Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris Materi Recount Text Menggunakan Metode Pembelajaran Small Group Discussion

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris materi Recount Text menggunakan metode pembelajaran Small Group Discussion (SDG). Subyek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII A SMPN 1 Balerejo, Kab. Madiun pada tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 1 pra siklus dan 2 siklus, yang menggunakan intrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes dan lembar observasi. Dilihat dari hasil temuan, nampak adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 setelah digunakannya metode pembelajaran SDG. Yang masih perlu menjadi perhatian dalam mengimplementasikan metode SDG ini adalah pertama, managemen waktu yang perlu diefektifkan oleh guru dan disesuaikan dengan alokasi waktu yang sudah ada pada rencana pembelajaran. Kedua, fungsi dan peran guru sebagai fasilitator harus lebih ditingkatkan lagi sehingga proses pembelajaran bisa berjalan dengan lancar.
